Students gain experience that will assist their regular academic endeavors and help tremendously with those challenging special homework projects. Lasting Impressions by Robin

My name is Robin Walker-Evensen.  I started Lasting Impressions in June of 2012. One day while browsing the web I came across this unique and creative opportunity to capture and preserve your loved ones precious hand and foot prints at any age. I was immediately excited about the prospect of doing what I love and being my own boss. I remember as a child doing ceramics and how much I enjoyed it, so this turn of events is truly a blessing to me. It’s never to late to start a new chapter and change the course that you will travel. The possibilities are endless as to what we can create. Although I have only been doing this a few months, I can not emphasize how exciting and rewarding it is to see a parents expression and happiness when I show them their completed project that I have captured for them.

Unlike the plaster of paris prints we have all done as  children, these time pieces will last a lifetime, if cared for properly. Let me help you hold your childs hand forever! I look forward to creating memories with you.

mb art studios

MB Art Studios is the creative work of me (Mary Burrows), an artist residing with my family in Reno, Nevada. I discovered this creative path in 2004, when I was a stay-at-home mom dabbling with watercolors and needle felting…all due to my son attending a waldorf preschool. Next thing I knew I was creating with clay and my mother-in-law gave me her kiln. I was hooked and opened up my world to the beauty of art after having worked in the corporate world for more than 15 years.

MB Art Studios is dedicated to bringing beauty into peoples’ lives. I create my own unique pottery, hold fine art classes for little people to work their magic, and also capture impressions of little ones hands and feet in clay.

Each ceramic piece that I create is one-of-a-kind and hand built in my studio with earthenware or stoneware clay. My work is influenced by my love of simplicity and the beauty and power of the written word. I keep my eyes wide open all the time for inspiration.

Wilbur D. May Center

This facility preserves the life and legacy of Wilbur D. May. In addition to his life as an adventurer and world traveler, rancher, artist, pilot, businessman, and Soldier, Wilbur was a committed philanthropist in the community – in particular toward education and well-being for children. The May Center’s museum, arboretum, and botanical gardens are places where Wilbur’s passion lives on, with fun and learning for visitors of all ages.

The Museum houses the personal collection of Wilbur D. May. During a lifetime of world travel and adventure, Mr. May accumulated thousands of rare and exotic artifacts, which he brought back to his Reno home. Since his death in 1982, Mr. May’s priceless ethnographic collection has been on display for the public to enjoy.

Arboretum & Botanical Garden

The Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Garden is 23 acres with 13 of it serving as living plant museum with over 4,000 native and adaptive plant species on display. It is located in a transitional zone between the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Great Basin Desert. The garden averages only 4 to 8 inches of precipitation annually, and comes in the form or rain or snow. A short growing season, less than 120 days, and at an elevation of 4,600 feet, the gardens’ daily temperatures can fluctuate 40 degrees or more in a single day! Only a few plants can survive these conditions without additional care and maintenance. The Arboretum’s primary purpose is education, research, conservation, and to demonstrate how introduced plant species and native plants grow in a high desert environment. The Wilbur D. May Arboretum & Botanical Garden is a member of the American Public Garden Association (APGA) and a certified Level II Arboretum through the Arb Net Program administered by the Morton Arboretum of Registered Arboreta, Lisle, IL.
